Épisode Les Revenants S01E03 - Wynonna Earp Saison 1

Wynonna descend des cartons de sa sœur au Shorty avant d’aller voir Doc au bar. Ils flirtent ensemble tandis que Wynonna essaie de lui soutirer des informations sur lui mais Doc ne laisse rien paraître. Lorsqu’il part, Waverly approche sa sœur, il cache quelque chose, ça se voit dans son regard.

Marty, Samuel et Gary, trois Revenants, assistent à un discours d’un député du maire. Ils en profitent pour l’attaquer afin de voler le journal de Shirley Dixon. Ils s’en emparent facilement mais décident quand même de tuer le député devant tout le monde, ce qui entraîne un mouvement de panique.

Waverly présente ses recherches à Wynonna et Dolls pour qu’ils aient de nouvelles informations. Elle présente le Ghost River Triangle et affirme qu’elle peut identifier certains Revenants. Dolls la remercie pour ses recherches, Wynonna voudrait se débarrasser des 7 Revenants qui les ont attaqué le soir où Wynonna et Waverly ont perdu leur père et leur sœur.

Lorsque l’on toque à la porte de leur bureau, ils rangent les informations qui étaient à vue de tous puis Dolls autorise Nicole à entrer. Elle les prévient que quelque chose d’inhabituel s’est passé. Dolls et Wynonna la rejoignent après que cette dernière ait rassuré sa sœur à propos de sa présentation. Waverly reste dans le bureau pour ranger ses affaires lorsqu’elle fait tomber une photo de Doc Holliday. En la ramassant, elle comprend qui est vraiment Doc.

Dans sa caravane, Doc fait la connaissance de Bethany qui vient l’informer que Bobo a une autre mission pour lui. Doc s’emporte et refuse de faire quoique ce soit de plus pour Bobo tant qu’il ne l’a pas payé, elle lui dit alors qu’ici, Bobo demande alors ils font. Ils finissent par coucher ensemble dans la caravane après que Doc veuille faire passer un message à Bobo par l’intermédiaire de Bethany.

Doc et Wynonna découvrent l’attaque des 3 Revenants envers le député du maire. Lorsqu’elle voit les images de surveillance, Wynonna s’arrête sur un Revenant se déplaçant très rapidement et le reconnaît : il fait partie des Sept. En regardant les preuves, ils parviennent à la conclusion que les Revenant tentent de fuir le Ghost River Triangle.

Au bar, Waverly aide Doc à trouver la personne qu’il recherche en fouillant dans une boîte d’archives. Waverly l’aide comme elle peut, lui proposant diverses personnes, photos et dates mais Doc dit ne rien reconnaître.

Wynonna se recueille sur la tombe de son père et de sa sœur lorsqu’elle entend quelqu’un répéter à haute voix quelque chose en faisant beaucoup de bruit. Elle peste car elle essaie d’avoir un moment avec les siens avant d’aller voir ce qu’il se passe. Elle découvre un homme en train de creuser dans une tombe, cherchant quelque chose. Quand il se retourne, Wynonna le reconnaît, il s’agit du Revenant qu’elle a vu sur la vidéo, un des sept qui les ont attaqué. Avant qu’elle ne puisse faire quoique ce soit, Marty a disparu mais il a fait tomber une séquence de numéros.

De retour au bureau, Dolls a trouvé une piste qui les mène à la banque de Purgatory tandis que Wynonna lui donne le papier qu’elle a récupéré au cimetière. Ils décident donc de s’y rendre.

Quand ils arrivent, le van des Revenants est déjà devant. A l’intérieur sont présents Champ et Shorty qui doivent donner leurs téléphones aux Revenants dès que ces dernières remarquent la présence de Dolls et Wynonna.

Le Shériff Nedley a été prévenu et vient en renfort sur le lieu de la prise d’otages. Wynonna propose d’être la monnaie d’échange pour libérer les personnes prises en otages : elle est l’Héritière et possède la combinaison que Marty a fait tomber, elle est tout ce qu’ils veulent. Dolls accepte mais lui prend le Peacemaker.

Une fois à l’intérieur, Wynonna appelle Dolls pour que les Revenants lui disent ce qu’ils veulent et il en profite pour les menacer. Ils feraient mieux de ne pas toucher un cheveu de Wynonna. Les Revenants relâchent une partie des otages mais gardent Champ et Shorty car les Revenants ont besoin de trois personnes. Champ réfléchit à une possibilité d’évasion avant qu’ils n’entendent comme des bruits de poignards.

Dehors, Nicole demande à Dolls le plan pour faire sortir les derniers otages et ce dernier lui explique sa technique : les encercler et chercher une vue dégagée. Il lui demande d’appeler Waverly pour lui dire que sa sœur est retenue prisonnière. Nicole remarque alors que le pick-up de Champ est présent devant la banque.

Au camp des Revenants, Doc rend les clés de sa caravane à Bobo. Doc lui dit qu’il ne veut plus rien lui devoir et qu’il vaudrait mieux qu’il parte de ce camp et ne se prive pas de lui rappeler que contrairement à lui, il est libre, il n’est pas un Revenant. Bobo a eu vent que Doc recherche Stone Witch et ne prive pas de le lui dire. Il fait alors chanter Doc : il travaille pour lui en se rapprochant de Wynonna et en échange il lui donnera des informations sur ce qu’il cherche. Leur discussion est interrompue quand le téléphone de Waverly, qui les surveillait, sonne. Doc lui tire dessus, sans la viser pour la faire partir et la mettre en sécurité.

De retour à la banque, Wynonna découvre qu’un des Revenant en a poignardé un autre. Les deux Revenants de battent, ils ne sont pas d’accord. L’un des Revenants lui demande alors de sauver celui qui est à terre avec le Peacemaker mais elle l’informe que ça ne se passe pas comme ça. Il reviendra à la vie plus tard, elle s’abstient de dire qu’il faut qu’elle meurt pour ça. Elle lui donne la combinaison que Marty avait fait tomber au cimetière, il lui demande alors d’ouvrir le coffre fort. Les Revenants lui retirent ses menottes et elle se met au travail.

Pendant que Waverly étudie ses dossiers pour savoir qui Doc recherche, ce dernier débarque dans le bar lui demandant ce qu’elle faisait au camp. Waverly réplique en lui demandant ce qu’il pouvait bien faire avec Bobo, leur ennemi juré. Elle est déçue de lui car il est censé être un héro, le meilleur ami de Wyatt et il est censé aider les Earp à briser la malédiction. Doc s’emporte alors et lui conseille de tout oublier car si quelqu’un doit briser la malédiction, ça ne risque pas d’être elle, petite sœur de l’Héritière. Waverly tourne les talons, très déçue de l’attitude de Doc.

Au bout d’un moment, Wynonna a trouvé presque tous les numéros du coffre, il ne lui en reste plus qu’un. Un des Revenants commence à s’impatienter mais elle fait très vite revenir le calme. Quand elle a enfin trouvé le numéro manquant, elle leur demande de l’aide pour ouvrir la porte et ils découvrent une boîte avec un médaillon dedans. Ils pensent donc qu’ils peuvent sortir mais Wynonna les rappelle qu’ils sont encerclés.

Les Revenants se servent de Wynonna pour sortir de la banque et Dolls et Nedley n’ont aucune fenêtre de tir. Ils la font monter dans le van et Dolls demande à sa protégée s’ils ont ce qu’ils cherchaient. Nedley voudrait mettre à plat le pick-up mais Dolls s’y oppose, ce serait le meilleur moyen pour que tout le monde meurt. Dolls les laisse partir, sachant pertinemment qu’il a mis un traceur sur Wynonna et demande à Nicole et Nedley de rentrer au poste.

Arrivés à leur destination, les Revenants ligotent leur trois otages et mettent en place le rituel qui les fera sortir du Triangle. Wynonna découvre discrètement un traceur dans ses cheveux et remercie intérieurement son partenaire. Champ commence à avoir peur pour sa vie mais Wynonna le rassure, ils vont s’en sortir dès qu’elle aura le Peacemaker. Shorty commence à s’évanouir à cause du sang qu’il a perdu. Dolls surveille la scène de son observatoire te se précipite pour apporter le Peacemaker à Wynonna. Lorsque Marty s’emporte, le dernier Revenant lui tire dessus pour l’immobiliser. Wynonna comprend alors qu’il a besoin du corps de Champ pour une espèce de possession, pour qu’il puisse traverser la frontière dans un corps d’humain. Il continue de mettre en place le rituel et Wynonna se propose, se sacrifie mais le Revenant l’ignore. Quand elle comprend que tout le monde ne s’en sortira pas elle demande à Champ de s’enfuir loin d’ici et Shorty demande à ce qu’elle en fasse de même mais elle refuse : elle est la seule à pouvoir les arrêter.

Une fois le rituel commencé, on peut voir l’âme du Revenant se déplacer à la recherche d’un corps à posséder et Wynonna se prépare mentalement à ce que ce soit elle et se dit qu’elle le tuera une fois qu’il sera à l’intérieur d’elle. Au dernier moment, Shorty décide de se sacrifier et se place devant l’âme en mouvement. Sam, le Revenant, se rend alors compte qu’il n’est pas dans le corps qu’il espérait et est en colère. Wynonna essaie de retenir Sam, dans le corps de Shorty en parlant à Shorty. Ils se battent alors au corps à corps tandis que Dolls approche de l’autre côté. Au moment où le Revenant s’apprête à assommer Wynonna avec une grosse pierre, Dolls s’en prend à lui. L’Héritière récupère donc le Peacemaker, en profite pour achever Marty et Sam mais Sam n’est plus dans son corps et elle doit tirer sur le Shorty si elle veut se débarrasser du Revenant. Elle essaie d’implorer Shorty pour qu’il se batte et dans un moment de lucidité, Shorty l’implore de l’achever. Elle finit par tirer, juste après qu’il ait révélé que sa sœur Willa n’est pas morte sur le coup. Wynonna s’effondre à côté de lui, en pleurs.

Au bar de Shorty, Waverly n’arrive pas à assimiler le fait que Shorty soit partit et Nicole essaie de la réconforter, lui prenant la main par dessus le bar. Les filles sont interrompues par Champ qui arrive et embrasse Waverly de partout, Nicole retire sa main mais Waverly la lui reprend, la remerciant d’être présente. Nicole finit par se retirer, mal à l’aise de la présence de Champ qui s’empresse de dire qu’il ne l’aime pas une fois partie.

Nicole retrouve Dolls et lui demande s’il a d’autres informations sur le meurtre qui avait eu lieu plus tôt. Cas non résolu et elle lui demande s’il y a un rapport avec la prise d’otage et la morte de Shorty. Ne voulant rien laisser paraître de surnaturel, Dolls lui dit que c’est sûrement son cœur qui a lâché. En voyant Waverly, Nicole répète à Dolls ce qu’elle a dit : qu’elle était contente que Nicole ait appelé mais Dolls n’en doute pas.

Waverly et Wynonna discutent toutes les deux, Waverly pensant qu’elle aurait pu aider si elle avait été présente. Elle aimerait vraiment faire plus en faisant partie de l’équipe mais Wynonna lui avoue qu’elle ne sait même pas si elle fait partie des gentils. Waverly la rassure, elle définitivement une des gentils. Dolls rejoint Wynonna pour lui montrer son soutien, comme il le peut. Lorsqu’elle lui demande pourquoi il a mis aussi longtemps à intervenir, il lui dit qu’il était présent depuis le début, ils voulait simplement voir si les Revenants arriveraient à faire ce qu’ils avaient prévu. Dolls et Wynonna sont en désaccords, elle ne supporte pas que ses proches soient en première ligne car pour lui, Shorty n’est qu’un dommage collatéral.

Quand elle arrive chez elle, Wynonna a la surprise d’y trouver Doc qui lui présente ses condoléances. Wynonna n’est pas d’humeur pour les belles paroles de Doc mais il a quelque chose d’important à lui avouer alors il insiste. Il se présente correctement, il était ami avec Wyatt et on le surnomme Doc. Wynonna comprend alors qu’il s’agit de Doc Holliday.

 

Shorty bar

Wynonna : Last one, Shorty.

Shorty : I'll take that.

Wynonna : With that ticker? The hell you will.

Shorty : I ain't keeling over any time soon. Nice to see you girls moving in together. It's too bad she's got so much stuff.

Wynonna : Well if you weren't so short-staffed, maybe Waverly could carry her own crap!

Waverly : Love you, sis!

Wynonna : Buy me a round, Henry?

Doc : Oh, you are awful forward for a girl in dungarees.

Wynonna : Seems like it's the least you can do. Met guys like you before. Maybe not the OK.Corral shtick, but charming loners who would drink too much.

Doc : Oh, don't forget, can't find honest work.

Wynonna : Mm. They're always either running from or looking for something. Seems like you're just my type.

Doc : What makes you think that you are mine?

Waverly : There's something about him, - you know, in the eyes.

Wynonna : OK. You know what? We can't all settle down with our high-school sweethearts.

Waverly : Hmm, still.

Wynonna : I've met worse guys than Henry.

Waverly : Oh, I'm sorry, "met"?

Wynonna : OK, when you're done judging me, make sure you're ready to drop your research on Dolls tomorrow.

Waverly : Oh, I'm ready. And believe me, you are gonna dig it.

Deputy Mayor : Over a hundred years ago, the wife of one of our founding fathers buried a time capsule. And though she could neither hear nor speak, Shirley Dixon's words live on in the poetry she left behind.

Samuel Larson  : 15 years you've been gone; you sure it's in there?

Gary Smith : As sure as I'm resurrected and standing here. I buried it here myself in 1906.

Deputy Mayor : With a new library coming to this site, it's time to unearth the past.

Man : Alright.

Deputy Mayor : Let's find out what she left us.

Man : Hey, hey, hey!

Man 2 : Call the police!

Gary Smith : Haha! Here it is. Dixon's diary.

Samuel Larson : "Voice of a mute." Well done.

Marty : Sammy, I'm getting an itch here. Can I just do one? Please, Sam?

Deputy Mayor : That is a valuable piece of local history! Someone, call the police!

Samuel Larson : This one has to hold you, Marty. Make it quick.

Deputy Mayor : No! I… I… Oh! Oh! What are you? Why Why are you doing this? Just leave this place! Samuel Larson : Trust me we're trying.

Waverly : So, everything from the mountains to where the North and South Ghost rivers meet forms the Ghost River Triangle. OK? Yeah. It cuts through the big city, contains thousands of square miles of forest, foothills, prairie, uh, the Badlands. And all of it cursed.

Wynonna : Yeah, the Earp Curse. What's wrong?

Waverly : Oh, nothing. It's just, um It's been a long time since I said it out loud. You know, sounds a little cuckoo bananas.

Dolls : Hell, this isn't my first time hearing about demonic maledictions or enclaves of evil. Proceed.

Wynonna : Yes, Waverly, "proceed.

Waverly : Um, ahem So the Triangle seems to act as some sort of prison, right? Any revenants who try to cross the boundaries

Wynonna : Wait-wait! I know this one. Daddy said, "Peeps who try to cross the boundary suffer hell on earth."

Dolls : They're not people.

Wynonna : They used to be.

Dolls : OK, so these outlaws-turned-demons, can you ID them?

Waverly : Um, yeah, well I… I… I… had some names in this ledger, right, which, uh which was Anyway. Um, I can still make out a few of them from old photos, and I have a really, really good hunch about some others.

Dolls : OK, well, my superiors frown upon hunches. So if this Triangle is a prison, then we're the wardens. I mean, we gotta identify the prisoners and keep them contained.

Wynonna : By shooting them in the face. Starting with the seven revenants that attacked our homestead and killed our sister. I want them to tremble with fear before me.

Dolls : You got powdered sugar on your nose. These will be great resources.

Waverly : Sorry. Uh, I spent years on that research so

Wynonna : Welcome to Team Shut-Up-and-Do What-He-Says. Sometimes, we get donuts.

Waverly : Ooh.

Dolls : Enter.

Nicole : Hey. You asked to be alerted whenever things come over the wire that seem unusual?

Dolls : Yeah, we're coming. Thanks. Waverly, you're dismissed.

 

Waverly : So, that's it?

Wynonna : He's not really the Let's-go-for-drinks-and-celebrate type. You did great! Yep!

Waverly : Sure. Oh! Ha! Get back here, Doc Holliday. Ohhhh shit! No…

 

Doc’s Trailer

Doc : Who is it?

Bethany : Bobo sent me.

Doc : Inside now. I question what sort of a man sends an angel to do his bidding.

Bethany : I don't know no Angel. Name's Bethany.

Doc : Bethany. Lovely, darling. Now, am I to assume that you have the vital information that Bobo knows that I so sorely desire? - Bethany : Bobo's got another job for you.

Doc : Well, he has not paid me for the last one, so I decline. With prejudice.

Bethany : Bobo tells us to do things, and we do 'em. That's the deal around here.

Doc : Not for me.

Bethany : I hear you're brave. Good with a gun. I hear you're also famous for…

Doc : Bravery is just a fancy word for stupid. Please refrain from accusing me of such foolishness. Now, as for my prowess with a gun… you tell Bobo to drag his corrupt corpse down to my trailer and tell me what I wanna know, or he will gain some first-hand knowledge of the efficacy of my shot.

Bethany : If what I hear is true, it's been a hell of a long time since you taught anyone a lesson. Unless you don't wanna.

Doc : Well now, ma'am, I… I… did not say that.

Bethany : And this will really piss Bobo off. The cherry on my sundae.

 

Black Badge Division’s Office

Wynonna : What makes this ours?

Dolls : The deputy mayor's body was fileted. Like a fish.

Wynonna : Ah, fish death equals Black Badge, got it. They also took Shirley Dixon's journal.

Dolls : Theories?

Wynonna : You mean, like a hunch? Well, the diary of our country's most beloved deaf-mute poet could bring in some serious coin.

Dolls : Why kill the deputy mayor in front of dozens of witnesses?

Wynonna : They must've really wanted it.

Dolls : Along with his severed hand.

Wynonna : Say what?

Dolls : This came in a few days ago. Oh, viewer discretion is advised.

Wynonna : I think I can handle it.

Dolls : OK. Can't say I didn't warn you.

Wynonna : Oh, my God! How dull is that knife? Oh, he's gonna miss his bus. Play it again. See how he moves? Freaky.

Dolls : Could be mimicking a hellhound. Strong, fast, finely tuned sense of smell…

Marty : Girly, you killed your own daddy. Did our work for us!

Dolls : Earp.

Wynonna : He's one of the Seven. He was there that night. What did they want with a book and an old dude's paw?

Dolls : All these items are carefully curated. My theory is that they're collecting rarities for a ritual.

Wynonna : What, like Voodoo?

Dolls : Uh, more like Dark-Ages European than Haitian.

Wynonna : Sometimes, you come so close to cool, and - then cool makes a run for it.

Dolls : The victim was Mel Cleghorn. 50 years ago, he was charged with the killing of his girlfriend. All evidence pointed to his guilt, but he was let off. And legend has it the left hand of an innocent murderer can open gateways. They're trying to get out of the Ghost River Triangle.

Wynonna : They can't. It's impossible.

Dolls : I hope so.

Wynonna : OK, a mute's voice, an innocent killer; what's next?

Dolls : Now, these things usually come in threes, mundus triformis.

Wynonna : Uh?

Dolls : It's a kind of paradox, like cold fire, the living dead.

Wynonna : Ohhh, OK.

Dolls : Yeah.

Wynonna : I'll keep my eyes open for a zombie wearing an icy-hot patch.

Dolls : Come on, Earp, this ain't no joke. If the revenants escape, they can scatter to the four corners of the world, ignite a shit storm of rape, murder, pillaging.

Wynonna : Well, the pillaging, we could handle.

Dolls : OK, where are you going? We've got work to do. Earp! Earp! We've got a description of the van.

Wynonna : Yeah. I need to think. And tequila. Mucho tequila.

Doc : On frontier life. But I am lately stumped. I seek the name and likeness of a figure once prominent in these parts.

Waverly : Well, I have collected almost every back issue of the Ghost River Chronicle. A bit of a local history nut myself. So, this guy that you're looking for…

Doc : It's a woman.

Waverly : OK Um Ooh! Here we go! Look familiar? "Big Nose Kate." Long-time companion of a famous gunslinger

Doc : Not the filly I'm looking for. Think blonde. Think striking.

Waverly : Men always do.

Doc : Why don't you look up the "Last spike" ceremony. I may recall her being there so I've read.

Waverly : Of course. OK "May, 1882." No. No photos. Recognize any names?

Doc : Well, I appreciate the help, but I best be heading off.

Waverly : Oh. Oh. Uhhh… So if I do find anything, uh, where are you staying?

Doc : A place young ladies should not venture. A trailer park, proprietered by one Bobo Del Rey.

Waverly : Oh.

Doc : Much obliged, ma'am.

Waverly : OK.

Marty : The numbers. I need those numbers.

Wynonna : Whoa! Pretty sure this is illegal.

Marty : Sam wants the numbers. Stan knows them. Just gotta ask him.

Wynonna : Hmm, doubt you're gonna get much out of Johnny McDead here. You OK, pal? Off your meds?

Marty : Three of them made me what I am! BANG! Where I am? Hell? Must be Hell. But I come back!

Wynonna : You.

Marty : Never going back.

Wynonna : Oh, you're going back, revenant. And you're gonna burn. Christ, he is fast!

Dolls : I ran the name on the headstone. Stanley Gatewood.

Wynonna : Hello to you too, Dolls.

Dolls : Managed the Bank of Purgatory in the 70s. Hired a man by the name of Marty who took great pleasure in foreclosing on farmers. Why didn't you shoot him?

Wynonna : He moves like he's krumping, remember? But he dropped this… You're welcome.

Dolls : Passwords? Bank accounts?

Wynonna : Combination? But the Bank of Purgatory is now a surplus store.

Dolls : Contractors build around old vaults that are too big to move. Down that coffee and we'll go.

Wynonna : It's really hot. Fine! Hmm!

 

Outside

Dolls : There, the van. We're too late. OK, we're gonna take cover and regroup. We don't want to tip them off.

Wynonna : Good thing we're not driving a giant narcmobile.

 

Store

Champ : Yeah, it's just a two-inch clamp for my tow hook. Think it'll be expensive?

Shorty : Less than the ring you owe Waverly.

Champ : Oh, sorry.

Marty : Look at that body. I call dibs!

Champ :Thanks. I get that a lot.

Gary : Shit! Everybody on the ground! Plan B, boys, we got company! Ah!

 

Outside

Marty : Stay back! We got hostages!

Dolls : Go!

Wynonna : Hostages.

Good, right? Means they're not going to kill them.

Dolls : Not yet.

 

Store

Gary : Everybody hand over your phones. Now.

Champ : Who still carries phones, right?

Marty : Don't make me damage what will soon be mine!

Champ : Don't do this, fellas.

Shorty : You haven't hurt anybody yet. Just take what's in the register, leave out the back.

Samuel : Keep your head! That bitch outside can send us all back to Hell, and these hostages are our only bargaining chips! You and you, head to the back! You behind the desk, follow 'em. Get him off the floor! Now! We're close, boys! Marty, move your ass, find the vault. Gary, you help him.

Gary : Alone?

 

Outside :

Wynonna : Why are we not going in there and shooting these bastards?

Dolls : Do the odds. You think we can subdue all three before they kill anyone? Oh, the cavalry. Just in time.

Wynonna : Ah, great.

Nedley : Got a report of shots fired, hostage situation. I call the Tac team?

Dolls : It'll take them an hour to get here from the city. You take your cues from me.

Nedley : So we just stand around with our thumbs up our asses?

Dolls : And if that's how you've been trained, feel free.

Wynonna : Hostage taking is about bargaining, right? We have things they want.

Dolls : The combination?

Wynonna : And the Earp heir.

Dolls : No. Too risky. They'll kill you.

Wynonna : You said it yourself, they're trying to piece together some kind of spell, so if they think I can help them get what they want, then that's gotta be worth every person in there.

Dolls : Give this to whoever's in charge. And

Wynonna : Never get into a vehicle, never move to a second location.

Dolls : You've been in a hostage situation before?

Wynonna : Sort of.

Dolls : This time, you're the law, and innocent people are depending on you. Now, your gun.
